Widget Types

Solinth offers a variety of widget types to visualize your data. Each widget type is optimized for specific use cases.

Metric Cards

Display a single value with optional comparison to a previous period. Perfect for KPIs like revenue, user count, or conversion rate.

  • Single value display with large, readable numbers
  • Trend indicator (up/down arrow with percentage)
  • Sparkline for historical context
  • Custom formatting (currency, percentage, etc.)

Line Charts

Visualize trends over time. Ideal for tracking metrics that change continuously.

  • Multiple series support
  • Customizable time granularity (hourly, daily, weekly)
  • Area fill option
  • Annotations for important events

Bar Charts

Compare values across categories. Great for rankings, distributions, and comparisons.

  • Horizontal or vertical orientation
  • Stacked or grouped bars
  • Custom colors per category
  • Value labels on bars

Pie & Donut Charts

Show proportions and percentages. Best for displaying parts of a whole.

  • Interactive segments with hover details
  • Legend with values
  • Center label for donut charts
  • Limit to top N categories with "Other" grouping
When to Use Pie Charts
Pie charts work best with 2-5 categories. For more categories, consider using a bar chart instead for better readability.

Display detailed data in a tabular format. Perfect for lists and detailed breakdowns.

Maps

Visualize geographic data. Great for regional analysis and location-based metrics.

Widget Configuration

Each widget can be configured with these common options:

  • Title: Display name for the widget
  • Data Source: Which data to display
  • Time Range: Override dashboard default or use custom range
  • Filters: Filter data by specific dimensions
  • Refresh Rate: How often to update the widget
Widget Limits
Each dashboard can contain up to 50 widgets. For complex dashboards, consider splitting into multiple focused dashboards.
